Local financial experts are weighing in on how people can plan the rest of their year.

"There's a lot of things one should be looking at right now," Dr. James Mohs, of the University of New Haven says. "Don't invest in anything you cannot afford to lose."

Dr. Mohs says the upcoming presidential election could have an effect on personal finances, and people should be considered with preservation of wealth.

"We do know interest rates are probably going to drop at least once this year," Caleb Silver, of Investopedia says. "They're coming down just super slowly, so keep that in mind when you're considering your expenses."
