Members of a Bridgeport church impacted by a teen suicide shared their story Sunday in hopes of saving lives.
"Right now in this very church we are dealing with a suicide. It's something that's very heartbreaking," said parishioner Dominique Gee.
Parishioners at East End Baptist Tabernacle say the tragedy this week is taking a heavy toll on their church community, and they hope to spread awareness during "National Minority Mental Health Month."
"We must remember this is an illness. It's not that people are defective or anything. It's an illness and we have to approach it as an illness," said Rev. Charlie Stallworth.
