A report has found that low-income Bronx students are getting shortchanged by their school. The special commissioner of investigation found in the last three years, students eligible to take advanced placement exams for free weren't reimbursed by the Bronx High School of Science. The students were charged $52 and the school kept the fees, which totaled around $73,000. The commissioner recommended solutions to the education department to avoid this problem in the future. The report also says Bronx Science has already started repaying eligible students. The Department of Education says there will be no repercussions for the school and will ensure all students are reimbursed.
