Local members of Congress are commending British authorities for foiling the latest terror threat Thursday.British anti-terror police arrested 21 people they say were planning to simultaneously blow up several planes heading to the U.S. Congressman Chris Shays (R-CT) says U.S. authorities need to be able to break into terrorist cells as officials did in Britain.Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) was out of the country Thursday, but said in a written statement, "The terrorist plot uncovered today is an unfortunate reminder that more must be done to improve air security, beginning with fully implementing the 9/11 Commission's aviation security recommendations." Delauro also commended the British for uncovering the plot and asked all Americans to remain patient and vigilant as they travel Thursday. Related Information
