Enzo Biochem has been doing diagnostic testing for 44 years, and executives say the experience gives them a leg up in handling the rush of people scrambling to get COVID tests.
"Not only is Enzo doing testing, but we have gotten approval from the FDA to build our own tests that we run," said Head of operations Kara Cannon.
Cannon says you can schedule a PCR or rapid test online at Enzo's Shelton location, at no cost to the patient.
"There are some appointments available, they do book up, but I have seen that we have appointments available for this week," said Cannon.
Cannon recommends monitoring local news sources for when tests become available.
Volunteers with Wilton's Community Emergency Response Team handed out 1,700 test kits Wednesday after a brief delay due to inclement weather.
Residents were required to register online before coming down to pick up their kit at Allens Meadows Park.
CERT Executive Director Tom Gunther says Wilton has more testing kits from the state coming soon.
"There will be a separate supply of kits that is going to Wilton public schools, and they will be distributing them through the nurse's office at schools, right in the classrooms," said Gunther.
