Rob Blanchard announces bid for Connecticut’s 28th Senate District

He says he's running because, "the cost of day care, groceries, taxes and inflation are only making it hard to keep up. The American dream that was supposed to be the finish line is now out of reach."

Rob Blanchard announced his candidacy for the State Senate’s 28th District seat currently held by Republican Tony Hwang today.
Blanchard is the chief of staff to state Comptroller Sean Scanlon. He says he's running because, "the cost of day care, groceries, taxes and inflation are only making it hard to keep up. The American dream that was supposed to be the finish line is now out of reach."
Hwang has held the seat since 2014. Before that, he was a state representative for parts of Fairfield. Hwang almost lost the seat in 2022 but was able to hold on with just over 50% of the vote.
