Short Beach Summer 5K runners participated in the first race in Southwest Connecticut since the pandemic began.
It was capped at 140 people. Runners had staggered start times. Masks were required when unable to social distance.
"I was so happy to just see people out on the road,” says veteran runner Chrissy Devellis. “It's really been something that I've missed for the last few months."
Runners were given a commemorative cooling towel and were treated to non-alcoholic beer courtesy of Stratford's own Athletic Brewing company.
