The city?s parks department has promised Fordham residents the construction at Saint James Park will be completed by the summer.

Many residents are tired of the construction on the comfort station at the park. They say it has been going on for three years. The parks department admits it has taken too long to complete. The department blames the delays on contractor problems. However, parks officials say construction will resume in the next few weeks and will be finished by the summer time.

Bronx leaders with Community Board 7 have also been criticizing the parks department for the construction delays. They say Saint James Park is a favorite among neighborhood residents and it shouldn?t be neglected.
