The owners of a local fitness facility say they've experienced an influx of teens enrolling in their self-defense classes.
Instructors at Breakthru Fitness in Stamford say they teach serious moves meant to fend off an attacker.
Tom Botcha at Breakthru Fitness says younger people are taking classes in Krav Maga and other forms of self-defense. Botcha says regardless of their previous athletic ability, teens can learn exactly what to do to protect themselves. He says having such skills can give them the confidence to defend themselves against bullies.
Breakthru is holding a self-defense seminar for kids and adults on Sunday, April 24.
