Sen. Richard Blumenthal was at the state Capitol Tuesday to speak about the role of artificial intelligence in health care.
The senator pressured top industry leaders last month on the need to regulate AI, saying the technology could be safely used for good, if monitored.
"There are tremendous, really exciting promise and potential for AI, especially in the medical area. Right now, drug companies are using AI to discover cures for example, certain forms of malaria, or certain diseases that haven't been treated well before," Blumenthal said.
The senator said he will continue to push for government regulation for all uses of AI technology
