Seven Republican senators now support a measure to eliminate the president's across-the-board tariffs, Sen. Richard Blumenthal tells News 12.

The Democrat said the legislation would curb the "draconian" tariffs on every product from every country, which have sparked confusion and chaos. "I am sensing rising support among my colleagues," Blumenthal told reporters, noting the pause in tariff implementation has heightened uncertainty.

He believes passing the bill would safeguard Connecticut jobs and the economy.

President Trump has promised to veto any such legislation if it reaches his desk.
