Several Republican senators are opposing proposed Medicaid cuts impacting 94,000 Connecticut residents, according to Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal.

Blumenthal tells News 12, "These cuts in Medicaid are going to be catastrophic to health in Connecticut and around the country because one-fifth of Connecticut's people depend on it and that's why I'm encouraged by the growing resistance to and even a revolt among my Republican colleagues to the strategy of this administration to slash Medicaid for savings in money that will then go to tax cuts for the billionaires."

Sens. Jerry Moran, of Kansas, and Josh Hawley, of Missouri, are among those publicly against the cuts, according to Blumenthal.
