Sen. Richard Blumenthal made a visit to Norwalk Hospital today to thank health care workers for everything they have done during the pandemic. 
Sen. Blumenthal thanked doctors, nurses, and health care staff for all their hard work.
He says the best way for the public to show their thanks to health care workers is to get vaccinated, get boosted, and get tested for COVID-19.
The State Health Department in Connecticut is reporting more than 1,200 new COVID-19 cases from over the weekend.
The positivity rate is currently at 6.5 % and hospitalizations are down by 84 with 785 people being treated for the virus in the hospital.
The state has more than 706,000 total cases of the virus.
