Senator Chris Dodd (R-CT) held a round table discussion at Fairfield University Wednesday to discuss how well local communities are prepared for emergencies. The senator has been gathering information about how prepared the area will be if and when disaster strikes. He said the federal government is not doing enough for local communities in southwestern Connecticut. Local officials also offered ideas on what they think the government should be doing to help. Dodd said he will go back to the Senate with the information gathered. He also plans to ask for more money for emergency responder training and supplies.
