Caroline Simmons has picked up some major endorsements ahead of next week's Stamford mayoral election.

Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy and Rep. Jim Himes endorsed Simmons over her opponent, Bobby Valentine.

She called the endorsement an "incredible honor."

In the Stamford Advocate, the lawmakers wrote, "We have worked closely with Caroline over the past seven years and can emphatically say she cares deeply about the city where she and her husband are raising their young boys. She is a tireless fighter for her constituents. She has what it takes to become the leader the city deserves."
