Beachgoers who made the trip to Sherwood Island State Park were turned away Sunday because the park was closed due to damage from Saturday's storm.
A Westport fire official says a downed primary power line in the park during the storm sparked the damage causing Sunday's closure.
News 12 contacted the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to see when the park would reopen but have not heard back.
The Green Farms section also experienced heavy rain, strong winds and hail Saturday night.
This led to downed power lines and fallen tree branches on Green Farms Road, High Street and Valley Road.
Westport's fire department said there were no storm-related injuries, but said they did respond to 18 storm-related calls in 45 minutes.
The weather also caused power outages in Bridgeport and Norwalk.
