A suspected sighting of the UnitedHealthcare CEO shooter led police to stop, surround and search a train in Bridgeport around 9 a.m. Thursday, Mayor Joe Ganim told News 12 Friday afternoon.
“It turned out to be a false sighting, but I appreciate how quickly MTA Police, along with Bridgeport Police, responded — in partnership with federal officials,” Ganim said. Somebody who was on a train from Stamford to Bridgeport called 911 after spotting a man they believed to be the killer, Ganim said.
Brian Thompson was fatally shot outside a Midtown Manhattan hotel Wednesday, sparking a massive manhunt.
