Crowds of skiers hit the slopes on Ski Sundown's opening day in New Hartford on Monday.
Ulla Jacobs, of Ski Sundown, said the parking lot got pretty full and the frigid front gave crews an ideal springboard to start the season.
The start of the season also marked the debut of the slope's patio with radiant heat to take care of the ice and snow.
Those who came out said it was "just warm enough" and "just cold enough" for skiing.
"It's perfect today," said Piece McDonald, of Fairfield. "It's just perfect."
