Family members and friends gathered at Wentfield Park in Bridgeport to celebrate the life of a teen who was slain a year ago Sunday.
Nicole Matthews says she can't believe that her 18-year-old son Shaahyid was shot and killed across the street from the park. A banner marked the spot shortly after the killing. Good food, music and laughter took the place of tears Sunday. Shaahyid?s parents say they are thankful for the large turnout at the celebration.
Police made an arrest in the case, but no one has been found guilty of the crime.
