The school day will reportedly get longer for some Bronx high school students starting next month.
Students who need to pick up their grades or prepare for the Regents will now do that extra work in an extended-day program. According to a New York Post report, more than 200 high schools will host the classes, which were designed by the individual schools.
The Department of Education says the extended-day program will replace the evening program. The evening school was for full-time students who needed to take extra courses to meet graduation requirements. Night schools, which are designed for students with full-time day jobs, will remain unchanged.
