A man living in an adult community complex in Essex County stabbed his wife and then turned the knife on himself, according to a law enforcement source.

stabbed his wife and then turned the knife on himself, according to a law
enforcement source.
The incident happened at the Woodcrest Fairfield Adult
Residential Community on Greenbrook Road in Fairfield. It is a 55-and-over
community.
Police have not provided many details about the deaths. News
12 crews saw two bodies being removed from one of the homes.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office identified the husband
as 84-year-old Frank Forte and the wife as 83-year-old Catherine Forte.
The prosecutor would not officially say that the incident
was classified as a murder-suicide and said that the cause and manner of the
deaths would be pending an autopsy.
The prosecutor did say that there is no danger to the
community.
