Southbury police warns residents of scam calls impersonating police officers
Police said they have taken multiple calls today about residents saying that someone called stating they were a Southbury police officer with an active warrant for their arrest.
Officials said residents stated that the caller used a real police officer’s name and asked them for bond payment.
Police alerted residents that these calls are scams as they never take bond payment over the phone.
Police said anyone with questions regarding these calls should contact them on their non-emergency line at 203-264-5912.
