Southwestern Connecticut residents stunned by soaring temps
crew in the shade clocked in around the 90s. A breeze in the shade offered a small measure of relief, lowering the temperature to about 77 degrees.
Many shoppers leaving the cool, air-conditioned mall were in for quite a shock when they opened their car doors. The inside of many vehicles reached a stifling 139 degrees in the baking sunlight.
