Hundreds of Catholics throughout southwestern Connecticut paid tribute to Father Robert Pohley in Stamford Sunday after the priest?s sudden passing.Those who knew 57-year-old Pohley say he loved the church and his parishioners very much. Friends, family and parishioners said goodbye to the well-known priest in a mass Sunday at Sacred Heart Church. Pohley was spending Thanksgiving with his family before they suddenly had to call 911. Pohley passed away that night at Stamford Hospital. Now, his parishioners say they are praying for a higher power to make sense of the loss.A native of Westport, Father Pohley was ordained 31 years ago and served in several churches throughout southwestern Connecticut. Father Pohley's body is currently at Sacred Heart, where it will remain until Monday afternoon. Pohley will be buried at his family's plot at Assumption Cemetery in Westport. Friends and family say he will be remembered as a man of great faith who took pride in his family and was devoted to his calling.
