(05/29/06) BRIDGEPORT ? One southwestern Connecticut resident is supporting U.S. soldiers overseas, and their families at home, through song.
Robert Allen Mycko says he wrote the song, ?You?re My American Hero,? as a tribute to American soldiers. According to Mycko, the song tells the story of a soldier who has returned to the United States with an injury. The soldier in the song praises his family for staying tough during the long deployment overseas.
While Mycko and his singing partner say they care about the song?s success, they say it is more important for people to hear its message. According to Mycko, he wants soldiers to realize members of the community appreciate their service.
