The Stamford Dental Group hosted a Dentistry from the Heart event Wednesday where they donated a day of free dental care to people who cannot afford a dentist.

Doctors say it’s important to receive oral care because mouth problems can lead to other health issues.

Dr. Jack Degrado of Stamford Dental Group said, “A lot of people that we get over here have, because of financial reasons, they have to neglect their mouth, and you know, if you have an oral infection, or cavity, or infected teeth, that affects your entire body and it affects your overall health.”

Doctors say this is their biggest giveback day ever and they anticipated treating over 75 patients.
