A Stamford family is mourning the loss of its matriarch who died in a tragic car accident Thursday.
Sophia Bravo, 44, and her husband were taking their youngest child to his first day at a new school when they were struck by another car. Bravo died at the scene while her son Eric was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Mr. Bravo, the driver, escaped.
The victim's children say they are working to raise money to send their mother's body back to her native Mexico for a proper burial. They also say Eric's condition has improved, but he still remains hospitalized.
