Even though certain fireworks are legal in Connecticut, officials want to remind residents they can cause injuries if they're not handled properly. The Stamford Fire Department has some safety tips for residents who plan on enjoying fireworks this holiday. When lighting sparklers, wear goggles just in case a flame or spark shoots up, only use sparklers outdoors when there is not a strong wind and do not light them near anything flammable. The Stamford fire chief says almost every year a fire is started as a result of fireworks. He stresses fireworks can lead to serious injuries. Related Information Fireworks Displays
