Stamford is preparing children to return to schools in the fall.

The Stamford Public Education Foundation and Stamford Public Schools partnered to host a kindergarten readiness fair at Hart Magnet Elementary School.

Parents were able to work on registration forms, hand in documents and register their child for a physical.

Children were also able to take their literacy assessment.

"A lot of these kids were in preschool and had to jump out of the classroom and go back home," says SPEF Senior Programs Coordinator Haley Argueta. "So it's important to get the support they need because they haven't been able to have in person appointments...."

The fair will take place again on Aug. 1.

Registration is required.
