16h agoStamford Mayor Caroline Simmons announced Thursday that Rex Morris will become interim fire chief starting Oct. 2, 2023.
Morris is a professional firefighter with more than 50 years' experience, including leadership positions in the FDNY.
He's served as assistant chief of volunteer services for the Stamford Fire Department since 2014.
Morris will replace Chief Trevor Roach, who's retiring after 36 years of service.
