Ben Malloy, the son of Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy, appeared in court Tuesday. Police say he's one of three men who tried robbing an alleged drug dealer at his Darien home.
Officials say the incident happened earlier this month and was 21-year-old Ben Malloy's second drug-related arrest in the past two years.
Mayor Malloy was in Washington for a U.S. Conference of Mayors forum during his son's court appearance. The judge transferred the case because it is a felony matter.
Ben Malloy is due back in court in two weeks.
