Some Stamford residents say safety measures have to be taken at a local park before someone gets hurt. Rusty swings with broken hinges, cracks in the basketball court and litter can be found at Hatchfield Park on Perry Street. Keona Shepard, 12, is asking the city to make the playground safe for her and her friends. The city says the park is a priority and plans to replace some of the equipment in the spring, but says funding still needs to be approved.
