? Some west side Stamford business owners hope an increased police presence will bring customers back after a string of violence.
The police department has added 10 extra officers to patrol the area after seven recent shootings. Storeowner Randy Damiani says the streets clear at sunset now. At Exquisite Environments, workers say they are taking an aggressive stance against violence by being vigilant and working with cops.
Police say they have made several major arrests to curb the violence for crimes ranging from trespassing to narcotics possession.
