Stamford's new mask mandate for outdoor events is being put to the test this weekend at the Hey! Stamford Food Festival.
Organizers say they've been working closely with the city months to hold the event safely at Mill River Park.
Acting Health Director Jody Bishop-Pullan says the new rule is necessary in the face of rising cases. Officers will be on-hand to enforce the mask mandate, but officials say people can pull down their mask to eat and drink.
Organizers say if Thursday night was any indicator, Mill River Park has more than enough space for you to choose your level of distancing.
The festival features live music by Nelly. Tickets can be found here.
