The State Department says it no longer has a passport backlog.
The agency says it is back to its pre-pandemic norm of processing passport applications in six to eight weeks for routine service and two to three weeks for expedited service.
That's much faster than what it's been like the past year as the State Department issued more than 24 million passport books and cards, the highest number in the nation's history.
