Bronx and city schools are one step closer to getting the funding from the state required by the Campaign for Fiscal Equity (CFE) lawsuit.The state Legislature passed a budget that would provide more than $11.2 billion over the next five years for school construction costs. The Legislature also approved $6.47 billion annually for school operating costs. These numbers are substantially higher than the ones required by the CFE ruling. The budget now goes to Governor Pataki (R-NY) for his signature.
