It will be a day of mourning across Connecticut as people remember the victims of last Friday's mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown.

Gov. Dannel Malloy asked all Connecticut residents to participate in a moment of silence at 9:30 a.m.

The governor also asked churches and government buildings to ring bells 26 times to remember the 20 children and 6 adults who were shot and killed.

President Obama observed a moment of silence at the White House this morning.
