3h agoState police said a bear caused a car crash on Route 8 in Torrington.
It happened on Sunday, just before 9 p.m., near exit 45.
Police said the driver could not avoid the bear as it entered their path on the roadway.
The driver did not suffer any injuries, according to police.
Police said the bear died in the crash.
Other vehicles also reported striking the animal.
The bear was eventually removed from the road by first responders and the state's DEEP.
