State police said it happened at the southbound area of Exit 36 in Stamford.
Police said no injuries were reported.
The crash involved a Ford F-250, two Toyota Highlanders, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, a Honda Odyssey, a Lexus RX and a Ford Econoline.
