The incident happened at Carl Allgrove Elementary School in Granby Friday.
School staff found the handguns and confiscated them.
An investigation led to the arrest of Kenneth Pariaug, who police say owned the guns.
There is no word on the man's relationship to the child.
Pariaug is charged with reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a minor.
