Connecticut State Police Troop G, along with the Corvette Club of Connecticut, helped out Santa Sunday with a toy giveaway.
About 30 classic Corvettes in a caravan came from McDermot Chevrolet in East Haven with an escort from state police. Behind the state troopers were a van packed with toys.
The toys were then carried inside Troop G. Sgt. Rob Derry, of Connecticut State Police, tells News 12 it feels great helping so many families this time of the year.
Derry says state police are working with local social service agencies and families in getting the toys out to the community this week.
Usually, each Corvette arrives with its own load of toys, but due to the pandemic, they were all put in a single van to help the volunteers keep their distance.
