In a draft decision, Connecticut's utility regulators found Eversource's response to last summer's Tropical Storm Isaias to be negligent.
The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority ordered the company to do tougher testing on its outage system and to develop new response plans.
Eversource responded in a tweet that said, "We take exception to some conclusions made in @CT_PURA's draft decision today. Despite the forecast for Isaias changing drastically as the storm arrived, we were well prepared and mobilized thousands of crews to restore power as quickly as possible, while following Covid protocols."
At this point, utilities can submit arguments before PURA makes its final decision.
