Republicans in the state Senate unveiled their $1.5 billion Back Budget Wednesday.
It combines the income tax cut and bigger Earned Income Tax Credit that Gov. Ned Lamont wants with a new $2,000 tax deduction for parents that House Republicans want.
Democrats say they're close to a budget agreement.
Lawmakers have to pass a new state budget by June 7.
