State treasurer to visit University of Bridgeport to discuss CT baby bonds proposal
State Treasurer Shawn Wooden will be visiting the University of Bridgeport Monday to talk about a plan he says would help level the playing field for every child born into poverty in Connecticut.
Wooden's Connecticut Baby Bonds propsal aims to fight poverty, promote racial equity and stimulate economic growth.
Wooden tells News 12 he's excited about bringing the idea to Connecticut's biggest city.
He says the measure would lead to more students enrolling in programs that teach entrepreneurship.
It's currently under consideration by the Connecticut General Assembly.
