Stop & Shop supermarkets is offering incentives to customers who are still hesitant to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
The chain says anyone coming in for their first dose of the vaccine at the Main Street location in Bridgeport or Lake Avenue location in Danbury will receive a free $20 gift card.
Customers can make an appointment or stop by the pharmacies.
As COVID-19 numbers see an uptick, state officials and health care professionals are starting a new push to get the rest of the state vaccinated.
Griffin Hospital brought its mobile vaccination unit to Seaside Park in Bridgeport Wednesday.
Hospital officials say after weeks of steady declines, they're starting to see more people taking advantage of the opportunity.
"We do feel like we are moving the dial a bit, we have noticed an uptick in our participation rates," said Myra Odenwaelder, assistant vice president of therapeutic services at Griffin Hospital.
Griffin Hospital officials say they run between 25 and 35 mobile clinics across the state per day, seven days a week.
