Severe weather overnight kept crews and the town's emergency management groups busy today in New Canaan.
While New Canaan officials say they're thankful to have been spared of any major damages, crews were out all day clearing trees and blocking off roads.
Hundreds of homes lost power. An Eversource Energy spokesperson says crews will be working overnight to restore power.
First Selectman Robert Mallozzi says schools were closed as a safety measure due to the amount of power lines on the ground.

Mallozzi says that fortunately there have been no reports of damages to any homes.
