State lawmakers say they're working on a bill that would provide upgrades to the Danbury branch of the New Haven Metro-North line.

Some residents say the repairs are long overdue, and lawmakers say they are aware of the lack of funding for infrastructure improvements.

Officials say the proposed bill calls for a reallocation of bonds so they can make improvements in the near future.

At a forum held Monday night at Wilton High School, local officials and the Department of Transportation worked to identify cost-effective changes that can be made.

The Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee will be discussing the bill Tuesday, as will the Transportation Bonding Committee.
