Waterfront biergarten could be coming to Milford

Milford boaters and beer drinkers alike may soon have a new hangout spot on Bridgeport Avenue.
Co-owner Bob Chicoine gave News 12 a tour Thursday of what he hopes to turn into the Dockside biergarten and brewery. He says they're in the middle of renovating Dock A.
The planned facility will boast 30 tap lines and outdoor seating for 300 guests. A petition in support of the plan already has more than 1,300 signatures.
A partner in Jacksonville, Florida's Engine 15 Brewing, Chicoine says the idea started as a way to get some of their beer to Connecticut customers.
"We have a nice collection of beers down there, but once we hire a master brewer up here, we can kind of work with the Milford area and create beers that way," he says.
Milford Planning and Zoning will discuss the proposal on Tuesday. Chicoine says if all goes as planned, Dockside could open by the end of the year.
