Strawberry Festival held in Monroe

A tradition that's been alive for more than 40 years celebrated all things strawberry in Monroe Saturday.
The Monroe Congregational Church hosted live entertainment and nearly 100 crafters on the green for the Strawberry Festival.
There were freshly-picked berries from Jones Family Farm and a country store stand selling more than a thousand jars of jam.
Money from the festival will benefit the Monroe Food Pantry, the Center for Family Justice, and the Bridgeport Rescue Mission.
The festival continues Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
