Food truck, 'Chopped' champion team up for good cause

A Bridgeport food truck and a winner of the Food Network cooking competition series "Chopped" teamed up to fight the opioid epidemic.
During September, people who head out to one of The Tasty Yolk food trucks can try a sandwich called "Smoke On The Yolk," which was created by "Chopped" champion Dan Brelsford.
Brelsford, who's a Bridgeport firefighter, appeared on the show in July and wowed the judges. Since then, he says he's received calls from people wanting to try his dishes.
The sandwich includes smoked pork belly, mascarpone cream cheese, two eggs and chicharrones on a New York bagel.
The cream cheese inspiration comes from a unique ingredient Brelsford had to use on the show: jalapeno cheesecake ice cream.
For every sandwich purchased, $1 will go toward the AJ Foundation, which aims to end the opioid epidemic.
The co-owner says they've had to restock their supply of bagels and that he hopes to raise at least $15,000 for the cause.
